Measuring Guide – How to measure your windows

Measuring for your blinds:-

  • INSIDE RECESS – To fit the blind within a window recess – Measure the width at the top of the recess (wall to wall width) with a tape measure and include this measurement in your message to us during checkout. WE WILL THEN MAKE THE DEDUCTIONS TO ALLOW FOR THE FITTINGS (Please do not make the deductions yourself)
Please note, the fabric will measure approximately 3.6cm less than the full recess width provided.
  • OUTSIDE RECESS – To fit the blind outside of the window recess- Measure the total width required (distance from bracket to bracket) and include this measurement in your message to us during checkout. WE WILL THEN MAKE THE DEDUCTIONS TO ALLOW FOR THE FITTINGS (Please do not make the deductions yourself)
Please note, the fabric will measure approximately 3.6cm less than the full width provided.
  • If your drop measurement exceeds 165cm in length then our blinds will be unsuitable.
  • Next day delivery is not available on blinds ordered with the alteration service. We will aim to dispatch these orders within 2 working days.

    IMPORTANT INFORMATION:-

      • Please specify ‘INSIDE RECESS’ or ‘OUTSIDE RECESS’ in your message for us to make the necessary deductions.
      • We do not alter the drop of the blind. The blinds come with a standard drop of approximately 165cm. The fabric is lowered to the required drop and the remaining fabrics stays rolled on the roller.
      • Exact measurements are required, we will not be held responsible for any errors during checkout
      • We do NOT accept the return of our blinds which have been altered
If your blind is being cut to size then we may need to contact you to confirm sizes.

    Cut Down Service Ordering Guide

Step 1 – Ordering your Blind & Cut Down Service

Secondly; Select the ‘Yes’ to the alteration service. This is now ready to be added to your Basket.

Step 2 – Payment and Measurement Details

During checkout, please leave a note on your order during checkout stating the required size. If this information is not included then your order will incur a delay.

Please include a phone number when making your purchase in case we require any confirmation of size etc.

PLEASE NOTE; If more than one blind requires altering then please also specify which size goes with which blind style. If these specifications are not detailed during checkout then we will be unable to process your order.

1 review for Jasmine Red – Thermal Blackout Roller Blind & Metal Bracket Fittings

This is a fantastic blind from a fantastic price. It looks great in my kitchen. My window is 173cm wide, and it was just over £40, including p&p, cut to size. That is very cheap indeed. I ordered it, and it arrived, beautifully packed, within a few days (faster than expected). It was fairly easy to install, although I have one tip. If you are fitting inside a recess, the pre-drilled holes are too close to the back, and it is very awkward to drill that close to the corner of the wall and window. So I drilled one extra hole about 1cm further forward, level with the top hole (but further back than the blind, or it will snag). One screw seems sufficient to me, and the plugs and screws were adequate for within alcove fitting. Note too that you don’t need 1cm above – a few mm will do. (nb I would use longer screws and fatter fischer fixings for outside the recess fitting, where the strains are much stronger. Unlike most blinds, it is really, really easy to fit once you have the brackets in place. Just make sure you push the non-chain end in first, then the chain end. This is because the non-chain end is sprung. It will be obvious when you do it. And make sure the chain guard at the top is at the top. Finally, note that the roller blind rolls “over the top”, and “down the front”, not “down the back”. This means that it isn’t flush with your window, and takes up a bit more space on the window sill. So overall I am very happy indeed, and recommend both this blind and this company to anyone.
